One of the significant ingredients for soap making is Coconut Oil. It has been used by the people of the Pacific for centuries for cleansing and healing properties. So we will start our look at Soap Ingredients with Coconut Oil.

  1. Highly cleansing.
  2. Produces fluffy lather.
  3. Moisturizing your skin.
  4. Skin healing properties.
  5. Promotes healthy skin (rich in vitamin E antioxidants).
  6. Adds hardness for a long-lasting bar of soap.

So let us take a closer look at each of these properties.

Coconut Oil has a Lauric acid, with a saturated fatty acid that help improves skin appearance by reducing inflammation and keeping the skin hydrated. It has been shown to increase collagen production, which can help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
There are no guarantees, but the antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral properties in coconut oil may be helpful in a wide range of skin conditions, including eczema, acne, and psoriasis.

Vitamin E boosts photoprotection in the skin, protecting it from harmful UV rays after sun exposure. Skin inflammation is a key symptom of damage from UV ray exposure. Coconut oil also helps to soothe symptoms of skin inflammation, including swelling, redness, or thickness.

With the use of Coconut Oil and my own formulation, you will find each bar of soap gives you a rich lather.
